About this policy
This policy explains what information Commit Ltd collects when you use the app, why we collect it, and the choices you have. We have tried to write it plainly, because you should understand what happens to your information before you trust us with it.
The copy on this page is placeholder text for layout review and is not the final legal wording.
Information we collect
We collect the information you give us when you create an account and use Commit — such as your name, email address and the goals and progress you choose to record. We also collect a limited amount of technical information automatically, such as device type and app version, to keep the Service running.
You do not have to give us everything. Some information is needed to provide core features, and where that is the case we will tell you in the app.
How we use your information
We use your information to provide the Service, to remember your goals and streaks, to keep your account secure, and to improve how Commit works. We rely on this information to show you your own progress and to send you the reminders and updates you have asked for.
We do not sell your personal information. Where we use it for anything beyond running the Service, we will rely on a lawful basis and, where required, ask for your consent.
Photos and the content you create
Progress photos, captions and the goals you log are some of the most personal things you share with Commit, so we treat them with care. Your Content is stored to provide the Service to you and is only shared in the ways you choose within the app.
When you delete Content, we remove it from the Service, except where it has been shared with others who have not deleted it, or where we must keep it to comply with law.
Sharing and disclosure
We share information with service providers who help us operate Commit — for example hosting, analytics and payment partners — under contracts that require them to protect it. We may also disclose information where the law requires it, or to protect the rights and safety of our users.
If Commit is ever involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, we will let you know before your information becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
Data retention
We keep your information for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period afterwards, so that you can come back to your goals. When we no longer need it, we delete it or anonymise it.
Your rights and choices
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export or delete the personal information we hold about you, and to object to or restrict certain uses. You can exercise many of these rights directly in the app, or by contacting us using the details below.
Security
We use technical and organisational measures designed to protect your information against loss, misuse and unauthorised access. No service can be completely secure, so we also rely on you to keep your login credentials safe and to tell us if something looks wrong.
Children's privacy
Commit is not intended for children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us with information, please contact us so we can remove it.
International transfers
We may process and store information in countries other than the one you live in. Where we transfer personal information across borders, we put appropriate safeguards in place so that it remains protected to the standard described in this policy.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make material changes, we will let you know through the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use the Service after the changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
